ARVC Unveils Industry Benchmarking Tool

The National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (ARVC) has unveiled ARVC AdvantEdge, the first online financial and operational benchmarking tool designed exclusively for the RV park and campground industry.

“This benchmarking tool will prompt private park operators to ask themselves important questions about their businesses,” said Paul Bambei, ARVC’s president and CEO.

“Do you have the right number of employees and are you paying them appropriately? How do your occupancy rates compare to your peers? Are you spending enough on marketing to attract the right kind of campers to your park? Do you need to invest in new rental accommodations?”

ARVC AdvantEdge will help you find answers to these critical questions and many more, Bambei said, by making it easy to see how your park compares to similar parks in your market or nationwide. “You can filter your comparisons by the parameters that are the most meaningful to you, including region, state, age of park, number of campsites and other factors,” he said.

ARVC hired East Lansing, Mich.-based SureVista Solutions to develop ARVC AdvantEdge, which was unveiled earlier this month during the association’s Outdoor Hospitality Convention & Expo in Knoxville, Tenn.

About 200 private park operators across the country have already subscribed to ARVC AdvantEdge and have already begun to populate their individual park’s  data and more are expected to do so in the coming months, said Blake Ashdown, a former park operator and CEO of SureVista Solutions.

ARVC member parks can purchase subscriptions to use ARVC AdvantEdge for anywhere from $100 to $350 a year, depending on the size of their park. Subscriptions are also available to non-ARVC members for a higher fee. Parks can register online at www.arvc.org.

Based in Denver, Colo., the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds is the only national trade association exclusively representing the interests of privately-owned RV parks, resorts and campgrounds.  Membership is comprised of RV park and campground owners and operators, industry suppliers, franchisers and others committed to promoting the growth and welfare of the RV park and campground sector of the outdoor hospitality industry through development and implementation of legislative, regulatory, educational and promotional programs and activities. ARVC is a not-for-profit 501(c)6 organization. Visit www.arvc.org for more information.
